Psychiatrist serving Bethesda, MD
Steady, evidence-based psychiatric care for Bethesda adults, teens, and children. Our team treats ADHD, anxiety, depression, and related conditions over secure video, with in-person visits available on request. New patients are usually seen within a week.
Care that fits a Bethesda schedule
Bethesda lives at an unusual intensity. NIH researchers, federal contractors, biotech teams along Rockville Pike, and law firms downtown all share the same Red Line, the same Beltway merge at 270, and the same expectation that work follows you home. Whitman, Bethesda-Chevy Chase, and Pyle students carry an equally demanding load. That mix of high stakes and long days is part of what brings people to our practice.
We work to make care fit the rest of your life rather than the other way around. Most visits are conducted by secure video, so a thirty-minute medication follow-up does not require an afternoon off. When something warrants meeting in person, our Frederick office is a straightforward drive up 270.
What we treat
ADHD evaluation & treatment
Structured evaluation for adults first diagnosed late, and for students struggling with focus, deadlines, and executive function.
Anxiety treatment
Generalized anxiety, panic, performance anxiety, and the low-grade chronic worry that high-pressure roles tend to produce.
Depression treatment
Major depression, persistent low mood, postpartum depression, and seasonal patterns common to the mid-Atlantic winter.
Medication management
Ongoing prescribing with measurement-based follow-up. We review existing regimens carefully before adding or changing anything.
Initial psychiatric evaluation
A sixty-minute first visit that maps symptoms, history, prior treatment, and goals into a written plan you leave with.
Child & adolescent psychiatry
Care for ages twelve and up, with family involvement at intake and coordination with school counselors when helpful.
Our approach
- Board-certified clinicians. Every prescribing provider is board-certified and licensed in Maryland.
- Evidence-based, conservative prescribing. We start with the smallest reasonable intervention and adjust based on what the data show.
- Visits long enough to think. Initial evaluations run sixty minutes; follow-ups are not five-minute med checks.
- Telepsychiatry built for working adults. Secure video on any device, sent to you the morning of the visit.
- Coordination with your therapist or PCP. With your written consent we communicate directly with the rest of your care team.
Insurance & payment
We are in network with most major commercial plans used by Bethesda employers, plus Maryland Medicaid. Verify your specific plan and copay on our insurance page or call us before the visit.
Telepsychiatry across Maryland
Visits are conducted over a HIPAA-compliant video platform that works in any modern browser. You will need to be physically located in Maryland at the time of the visit. Many Bethesda patients log in from a home office, a parked car at lunch, or a quiet room between meetings — all of which work as long as audio is private.
Bethesda FAQ
How soon can a Bethesda patient be seen?
New-patient evaluations are typically scheduled within five to seven business days. If you have a preferred evening slot to accommodate a Metro or Beltway commute, mention it on the intake form and we will try to match it.
Do you treat NIH and federal-contractor employees who travel often?
Yes. A large share of our Bethesda patient panel works in research, federal contracting, or biotech and travels regularly. Telepsychiatry visits can be conducted from any location inside Maryland, and we coordinate refills around known travel windows.
My teenager attends Walt Whitman / B-CC / Pyle. Do you see students?
We see adolescents from age twelve and up for ADHD, anxiety, depression, and medication follow-up. Many of our after-school slots are used by students from the Whitman and Bethesda-Chevy Chase clusters. A parent or guardian must attend the first visit.
Are visits confidential if I am cleared by the federal government?
Visit records are protected health information under HIPAA and are not released without your written authorization. We are familiar with the SF-86 question and can answer specific concerns at intake.
Is the first visit virtual or in person?
Most Bethesda intakes are done over our secure telepsychiatry platform. In-person visits at our Frederick office are available on request and are sometimes preferred for younger children or for patients who would rather meet face to face initially.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
We are in network with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Johns Hopkins EHP, Priority Partners, and Maryland Medicaid. We will verify your specific plan before the first visit.
